Dean and Cas meeting while they’re both in middle school and clicking so perfectly.
Dean having to leave because that’s what his family always does in the end, and they’re both so heartbroken, but they exchange e-mails and write each other every day and just basically refuse to let their friendship die.
And then one day Skype comes out and they add each other so eagerly, and it’s the first time they’ve seen each other in years, and holy crap, Dean can hardly believe it when Cas’ face appears on his screen — he knows he’s staring, but Cas is gorgeous and suddenly Dean can’t even remember how to form words. It doesn’t seem to be a problem, though, because Cas looks just as speechless, and at first it’s way more awkward than Dean expected, but they persevere and continue to talk every night (and, slowly, their friendship becomes something else).
The very same day Cas is done with school, he packs his bags and leaves home, buying a one-way ticket to Phoenix, Arizona, where Dean is currently staying.
They never need Skype again after that.
